NASHVILLE (AP) — Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue believes you can have country artists covering their songs because the songs can be stripped down easily.

Sixx says most of the songs were written on acoustic guitar and a good song will stand up to interpretation.

“Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue” features acts like Justin Moore, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts and LeAnn Rimes remaking Motley Crue songs.

Moore says he was attracted to “Home Sweet Home” because it reminded him of his song, “Small Town USA.” He says he never would have thought that something like this would ever come to him, but he had fun with it.

“Nashville Outlaws” is out this week.
